ShAdoWs BeHiNd Us...

I can't begin to tell you how painful these last few weeks have been.. after a short illness my poor dad passed away recently...

I've tried so hard to keep saying to myself that it's better he's no longer suffering, but it's so hard to really get your head & your heart to accept that you'll never have a conversation again, never laugh at the same jokes again, or look at one another & know that above all, you understand each other, like no one else does, because you're so alike...It's like a part of me has died as well...

My mum had to go to dad's wallet for something the other day, & came across these photo's of me,... I never knew he carried them around with him all the time...

My very proud dad on my wedding day, he was like a small child grinning from ear to ear all day...

A friend wrote to me & said that everyone leaves a touch of colour & shadows behind them when they leave us....
I hope where ever you are dad, that your colours are shining bright...

With a tear in my eye I send you a hug. I cannot imagine how I will cope when the day comes that I lose one of my parents. Thinking of you and your mum. M x

Dads are very special and you will never quite get over him being gone - you have my sympathy and empathy, I lost my Dad 5 years ago and miss him terribly still. But with time you'll start to smile at the memories.

Bon courage.

Don't know where to start or what to say to you...I have no father he died when I was 3....but I know the ties that exist between father and daughter are so strong, so safe, so full of so much love, and your poor mom...
I suppose you just get through the days as best as is possible, I understand now Marion, I totally understand and I am so very very sorry for this terrible loss.
Thinking of you

It's so sad to read about your Dads passing. I think it's so lovely that he carried the photos of you with him all the time, what a great guy your Dad must have been xox

If only I could say something to make you feel better. I cried reading this post, I feel your pain.
Take care and try and think of all those happy times. I'm sure your Dad is watching over you.
